Great Tiger Spot

While Rick was doing some work out in the back yard, he came across this tiger salamander. I had no idea salamanders lived on the plains of Colorado, but they do.

Unfortunately, this one looks like it was attacked by a bird. He had a cut on it that we didn't notice at first but then some of his organs were coming out. I think he put up a good fight with the bird.
But eventually, the injuries won.

He was a good first pet and the kids all loved him and really cared for him and wanted him to get better. Maybe we'll find another one someday.
