We spent the evening at the Dransfield's for a fun party. Everyone brought a different kind of soup, they were all so good. When it got dark, Rick took Lexie & Joseph out trick or treating. Cheryl & Andrew stayed & handed out candy while sitting around the fire pit in the driveway.
At one of the houses, the person asked Joseph which kind of candy he wanted. Joseph laughingly asked, "Is this the chocolate pickle kind?" (Wonder where he got that joke, Rick.) Then everyone came back for some hot cocoa & treats around the fire. It was so fun spending the beautiful night (the weather has been amazing) chatting with everyone. What a great way to spend Halloween!

Trunk or Treat
Tonight was our Ward's Trunk or Treat. The kids had a blast & were so happy Grandma & cousins came up, too.
Here is our Snow White,
What Do You Think?
So, I've been thinking about this for a few years now. But, recently, I've thought a lot more about this. I'm not trying to say, who is right, wrong, who we should or should not vote for. I am curious only on this statement & what you think would happen if we followed the counsel.
In our ward, like every other ward around the country, we were read this statement from the First Presidency about political participation.
"Latter-day Saints as citizens are to seek out and then uphold leaders who will act with integrity and are wise, good, and honest. Principles compatible with the gospel may be found in various political parties.
Therefore, in this election year, we urge you to register to vote, to study the issues and candidates carefully and prayerfully, and then to vote for and actively support those you believe will most nearly carry out your ideas of good government."
During the 2004 election, we lived in Baltimore. They read this statement, & I remember some of our friends urging that we really pray about who we are voting for, really listen for whom the Lord wants you to vote (we weren't supporting the same people). Anyway, it made me wonder. If every member of the Church followed this counsel, "to study the issues and candidates carefully and prayerfully" would we all come to the same conclusion or not?
Let me know what you think.

Private Party
We were invited for a fun game of Chutes & Ladders, stories, & snacks. Good times! I can't wait for tonight's party.

Pumpkin Patch
Saturday we went out to May Farms again. It was a beautiful day-we should have brought sunscreen. Lexie & Joseph remembered the experience from last year & were very excited to ride in the barrel train again. They really enjoyed "getting lost" in the corn maze & taking turns picking which way for us to go. They really got a kick out of hiding in the cornstalks & trying to scare Mommy & Daddy. Andrew enjoyed the freedom of the corn maze & rolling around in the hay. The kids picked out some fun pumpkins & are excited to decorate them.
We will definitely need to come here again. What a fun day we all had!
