Since we are going to spend Christmas in Idaho this year we decided to have our family Christmas before we go. We certainly don't have room to take presents with us so we did it here and that way the kids could take some of the books they are getting for Christmas with us in the car to read. Yay.
We started around 5 this morning and read and acted out the Nativity.
Here's Joseph. I still love how he puts together his costumes.
Joseph, Mary, & the Shepherd.
Joseph and Mary.
Mary riding the Donkey.
Joseph got tired of walking and needed a lift, too.
Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus.
Our cute Shepherd.
I didn't get a picture of the cranky angel. One thing I love about acting out the Nativity is singing all of the Christmas Hymns with it. It brought a very sweet, wonderful Spirit into our home this Sabbath morning.
Mary took a quick break & made baby Jesus laugh for a bit. :)
Then it was time to open presents. Woohoo!
Joseph was super excited about his own calculator!
Eliza excited to open her present from Andrew.
Andrew has been wanting to open this present for many days.
Now he can shoot arrows with his friend, Brady.
One of the things on Andrew's list was ninja clothes. We couldn't find any but Lexie sewed this for Andrew. She also made him a block/ball. She's the best!
Lexie asked for this book set.
And she got a new doll. She was super excited about it! (Thanks, Mindy for the heads up on the awesome sale on it!)
Lucy didn't need much for Christmas. Lexie sewed her a block as well. So thoughtful.
Eliza got a baby doll, too. We weren't sure how she'd react to it as she didn't react so well to a new baby in the house, but it's been just fine! We did open this one up for her to play with while we continued opening presents because she liked it so much. It was very cute.
Here's the camera Lexie and Joseph made for Eliza. It was awesome!
And here is Rick opening the present Lexie made for him. He likes it...
A PICKLE! So awesome!
Joseph's friend, Logan, gave him a present for Christmas. The fun part is, Joseph picked out the same present for Rick. So we had them open them at the same time and boy did they have fun sparring for a bit before Church.
Yep, it was a fun Christmas morning around here! I think everyone just about got what they wanted!
