Busy Saturday

Lexie started a dance class a few weeks ago. She spends the first half of class learning tap & the second half is ballet. She is loving it.

After dance she & Dad ran lots of errands. They ended up at the Home Depot & Lexie planted a pretty purple petunia for Mom at their free kid's workshop.

While they were out & about Joseph helped Mom make some yummy cookies! (Just in time for some friends to come play.)

What a great Saturday.

I Love a Good Bargain

Tonight we went out to Albertson's & got a good deal. We got 3 boxes of Kellogg's cereal, 2 gallons of milk & 1 loaf of Oroweat bread for $6.18. Not too shabby. (If only I had more coupons...)

Fun in the Snow

We had another snowstorm which brought us much accumulation (over a foot of snow). Of course we couldn't let it go to waste. Andrew spent most of his time being held by Mom or up on the patio drawing with sidewalk chalk. We built a snowman, built a little fort to protect us from the invading snowman, buried the kids in the snow, had a juggling show, made a throne for the "royal" family, & had a really great snowball fight. Amazingly, no tears (even when Joseph caught a snowball with his mouth). Dad almost cried from his aching back after shoveling all of that very wet & heavy snow. Mom was reminded once again to add snowpants for her to the shopping list. Too bad this didn't happen during the work week so Dad could have a day off.

A Little Magic Show

Tonight before bedtime, Lexie asked Daddy to show her some magic tricks with her coin. We started out asking her what was on the back of the coin (a nickle). Imagine our surprise when she answered, "Marti-jello!" (Monticello) We got a good laugh out of that & decided to record the little show.

It will be a very sad day when the kids are no longer entertained by Dad's corny jokes & tricks.

Of course, once Dad was done, they wanted to show us some of their magic tricks.

Saturday Egg-citement!

Our Saturday morning started off with baskets for the kids. They were quite excited for all of their fun goodies.

Then we hurried on down to my sister, Becca's house for an Easter Egg Hunt. Another one of our sisters, Kiersten & her family, were there to join in the festivities as well. Much fun was had by all. Thanks for having us!
After the hunt, we went down to Colorado Springs. One of my old roommates from freshman year was visiting her parents down there & invited us down for her daughters birthday party. It was fun to have us three roommates together again after so many years (Kelli, Kristin, & me) & to watch our kids play together. I'm so glad they all got along so well!
(This is us then & now.)

We went to this fun place called ITZ & had lunch & played hard. There were awesome games & rides for the kids.
Poor Joseph didn't really care for the Monkey Jump. He was a brave boy to agree to riding it. It was great though to have all the kiddos up there at one time. But, Joseph was certainly holding on for dear life. When he got off he said, "That was the scariest ride I've been on-ever!"

Afterwards we headed over to Kelli's parents for cake & ice cream. Thank you, Kelli (& your awesome parents) for such a fun party! We really had a blast!

Silly Andrew

It's officially time to find a new hiding spot for the suckers.

Visiting the Springs

Rick took the day off from work, so we headed down to Colorado Springs this morning for some fun. Our first stop was the Olympic Training Center. We took a tour around the facilities & saw some Olympians. It was a neat place to visit.
Then it was off to the Garden of the Gods. We hiked around, climbed on rocks, ran around, & had some good ol' fashioned fun. It was a gorgeous day & we're glad we were able to get out & enjoy it.

Joseph's Birthday Party

This afternoon we had a party for Joseph & we had a blast! He really wanted a blue dolphin cake & this is what we came up with. Joseph was so excited to see it this morning & gratefully he liked it. The kids were great helpers getting everything ready for the party. At the party we colored, made sea creature snow globes, had a volcano (Thanks, Heather, for the idea!), a bouncy gym (Thank you, Trina!), & raced cars down the stairs. It was hilarious to watch the kids all run from the "hot lava" when the volcano "erupted".
We had such a fun time with so many of his friends & gratefully more friends got to come play that evening so the party continued for hours. My kids did not want it to end! We love fun days like this; especially when everything comes together so nicely. We sure love our Joseph!

Happy Birthday, Joseph!

It's crazy how quickly he's grown up.

Today Joseph turned 4 years old. We had fun playing games, running errands, cleaning up, giving him a haircut, & going to Lexie's soccer game. He chose to go to "Old McDonald's" for dinner. We had some fun opening & playing with his presents tonight (which he'd been asking to do all day long).
He thought it was really cool that his new Hot Wheels track was long enough to go down the stairs with a loop at the end.
It's amazing to think about how much he's learned in these first 4 years, we can't wait to see what he does in the coming years. He is such a great kid & we know he'll do many wonderful things.
(And he's so much fun to tickle!)
Happy Birthday, Buddy. We love you!

Lexie's First Soccer Game

It was pretty chilly, but it was lots of fun!

And We Thought He Wasn't Listening...

The person giving the closing prayer in Sacrament Meeting at church today prayed that the Bishop & the Bishopric would be blessed. Immediately after the prayer, Joseph asked, "Mom, is dad a bishop?" I answered, "Oh no, he's not." Joseph then asked, "Then why did she say Bishop Rick?"
(At least he pays attention to your prayers, Jordan.)
