Happy Halloween!

Today we had a busy, fun day! This morning we went out to the Pumpking Patch. It was a lot of fun! And to top it all off, the weather was perfect & beautiful!
There were lots of fun activities. First off we all went on a barrel ride. Lucy loved it. :) Then we hit the castle bridge where the kids did some sling shots. Then we went to the bouncy houses.
There was also a little petting zoo.
And then we walked around some & looked at all the Halloween houses.
Then we headed into the corn maze. It was fun & we did it without finding many dead ends!

The kids gave us a fun little performance on the piano & then a little talent show.
Time for a second ride in the barrels.
And of course it's more fun to ride backwards the second time around.
Then we stopped to play with some bubbles. The kids could have played here the whole time & been happy!
They also had a big pinata.
Andrew taking a few whacks.
Joseph taking a swing at it.
Lexie & Lucy enjoyed looking on-or just snuggling.
Then off on a hayride to pick out our pumpkins.
Lucy loved her first ride.
Eliza (I think this may be her first ride as well).

Hunting for the perfect pumpkin.
Poor Lexie found hers but it had lots of thorns that hurt on it. We got them off but not before she got poked a few times.

When we got back we made caramel apples. We've never bought the caramel wraps before & they were alright but I don't think we'll do it again. But the kids still had fun.
Andrew had soccer practice this afternoon so we also had a great time playing with friends at the park & then it was time to come home, eat dinner & get ready to go.
I was a little surprised Joseph wanted to be a knight again tonight but he was a Jedi tons these last few weeks for different parties.
Andrew finally decided on a transformer knight tonight.
Here they are before heading out to Trick or Treat!
Lucy helped me hand out candy & Eliza helped after going out for a bit with Dad.
Happy Halloween!

Trunk or Treat

Tonight was the ward Trunk or Treat. It was a lot of fun! This year (well, for tonight at least) the kids decided to be as followed: Lexie-angel princess, Joseph-knight, Andrew-knight, Eliza-eskimo, Lucy-pumpkin.
Before going we taught Eliza how to say "trick or treat" & it took only a little coaxing. She wouldn't say it on her own so I "practiced" giving out candy to Lexie & Joseph. Once she saw Joseph get candy she excitedly held open her bag & shouted "Trick or Treat!" It doesn't take long to teach kids this trick. Rick said she did a great job saying it to everyone there. We videoed it afterwards.
