Out & About

We took a drive up in the mountains today. The kids had such a great time "exploring" everything. Today was the first time Andrew tried walking in shoes...not his favorite thing. But he got the hang of it.

Guanella Pass ends in Georgetown where we decided to stop for dinner. While driving around looking for a resturant we found this awesome park. This is one of the best parks we've ever seen. When it was time to go eat dinner the kids kept saying, "We aren't hungry for dinner-we just want to keep playing."

We had dinner at a little European restaurant. We're so glad we ate there. We had great schnitzel & szegidain goulash. We happy to learn Andrew loves red cabbage.
By the time we got home everyone was plum-tuckered out.

Are we feeding this kid enough?

Eating the door hinge. And the window sill.
 The filing cabinet.
 A favorite, hangers.
 The stroller is pretty tasty.
It's a good thing I had just mopped this floor.
Can I eat the couch? Wait, it's not so yummy.
 Yummy banister!
 Yep.
 Zippers! And a CPU! Score!

All of that eating has really worn me out!

Our Garden

For our half-time entertainment (Can you believe how incredible the BYU game was?) we pulled a few things out of our garden.
It's so much fun growing your own food. I wish we could do more of it. The kids had a great time harvesting also.

Got Joy?

At Joy School, Joseph has been learning about butterflies. He brought home his caterpillar in a cocoon (chrysalis) & he checked it everyday for 2 weeks.
Today when he checked on his caterpillar, it was a "beautiful, colorful butterfly". He was so excited & surprised to see it had worked!
Now they are learning about their bodies & all the awesome things they can do. Today he made a gingerbread man to look like him.
Miss Jen also sent him home with "scoops of ice cream" to help him learn sight words. They add new words each week or so.
He is doing a great job with sounding out words & has these (& some of Lexie's) sight words down.
